So out of reach yet not so far
The closer I get, the further you are
There’s the reason for my hearts biggest scar
Anything could happen if we gave it a chance
Together each other’s lives we would enhance
The ability to send you a chill with just a glance
A life time of love and romance
If I said how I feel where would it go?
Would it even matter if you decided to know?
Together one day, possibly we could grow?

Dangerous Kiss
Yours pressed against mine,
Frozen in a moment of time
Always a memory of bliss
Still thinking of that dangerous kiss
Softer than rose pedals
Worthy of award medals
Nothing sweeter exists
Than the beauty of a dangerous kiss
So much trouble it can bring
Like a once in a lifetime fling
Never knowing something was amiss
Because we got started with a dangerous kiss
I would do it over and over again
Knowing what means would justify the ends
Now I wait, and always will I miss

Space
If I could jump as high as I could
Out of this world I would
I think I would land on the moon
Knowing I would leave there soon
To the depths of space I go
Only here can my mind flow
I couldn’t describe what I seen
Or even the emptiness in between
Only here can the sun be so bright
Only here can one see such a sight
The beauty of creation in outer space
Only here did I find my place
Here things made perfect sense
Peace in space so immense
To think it can’t last forever
Or that I could even experience this endeavor
Who would have known unless I tried
That next to a star I could glide
Eventually it would come to an end
A limit to the time I could spend
Back to the moon to watch Earth’s show
To witness ignorance, violence and strife grow
Should I even go back from where I came?
Only to find things still the same?
I can’t survive on the moon much longer
I need a souvenir to keep me stronger
So I take a rock before I leave
As I lack the air I breathe…
This goes out to those who go through it, and sometimes you just wanna get away, life is hard, but it makes us stronger. I was influenced by the scene in the movie "The Watchmen" where Dr. Manhattan escapes harassment by going to mars. Even he had to step back.

Walk On By
As I walk past you I seem to be at a loss of words, kinda like I lost the verbs
To describe how I feel when I saw you, thinking about what I would do
If you only knew, how I would treat you if you were by your side
But I am not your confide, all because of what I did way back when
Destroying what should have been, changing the future
Creating wounds that no needle could suture, with no clear fix
Here I am lost in the mix, thinking about the way look on past
Like im not there cause im clear as glass, about the way I feel
But it had to happen that way as I reveal, the reasons why that path was chosen
And our lines were broken, the we drifted away and apart
Like when we didn’t know each other at the start, but we came together quickly
And it was over just as swiftly, but I will never forget
My memories forever in your debt, for the beautiful short time
Back when I thought you could be mine, now you catch a corner of my eye
And ill wonder next time I walk on by, do you think like I do?
Do you wonder if I knew? If what we felt was really true.

Solar Eclipse
I was always used to the dark, and the beautiful moonlight
It made my nights a beautiful sight
Till one day the moon decided not to come out that night
The day began and out came the sun with all its might
I would have never met her if the moon never hid her light
And now it was the sun that was all I wanted in sight
After I had grew for the sun’s lighted lips
The moon decided to create a solar eclipse
And forced the darkness back into my script
I had to endure the dark once again
Wondering if the sun would still be my friend
But light and dark will never blend
Now I left my moon in a way I can’t comprehend
But I was excited to see the sun once again
But it was too late, the sun decided to set around the worlds end
I wonder what it would have been like to enjoy the sun
Now my days are cloudy and I seem to of lost my grip
All because of a solar eclipse…
This one goes out to anybody who ever had to sacrifice someone for the other

Just like a star can fall out the sky
Just like you can lose that look in your eye
Just like my love waits in standby
In faith and God I will have to rely
Just like a star is how my love endures
Through the test of time our love tours
That’s why I know my love is mature
Because I know, what I feel is for sure
Just like a star burns with fire
Only for you my heart desires
If only you knew how your love inspired
If only my love never backfired…..
Just like a star shines oh so bright
When things get dark I won’t give up the fight
Even when there is no peace in sight

Some many decisions I have yet to make
About the fate of many hearts to break
Should I hear your warning and protect myself?
Maybe I should step back and put my heart on the shelf?
Last time I put my heart out there I ended up humbled
You didn’t mean to, but my heart u still fumbled
Whose fault was that? I guess mine for trying
But life without love is only good for dying
Here we stand at a crossroads in our lives
Down this path, only one type of “ship” can survive
If only there was some way for everything to thrive
For yours and mine futures to collide
So here I stand with a choice to make
About the fate of two hearts to break
If everything happens for a reason
Then why did our hearts decide to commit treason?
This one goes out to anybody who had to make a tough choice, of one person over another, or even if you should give a person another chance, i know it can be hard.

Emotion and thought blended together like an ocean shore

I became a fool blinded by emotion, by love’s sweet allure
Very few cared for other than themselves, as far as I could see

But I let my love for others ruin us; I should have let us be

A Honest Day's Work
Before the sun ever breaks the dark morning sky
He is awake in the middle of the night
His hair has gone silver as tribute to time gone by
His body creaks as he moves about
He prepares the same way every morning
Off to another day of work
An uneven swing of the door signals its time to be fixed again
He opens the closet of his tools for work and sets his things down along side them
The usual routine begins as he inspects what needs to be done
He shakes his head as he flushes the toilet that someone forgot to do themselves
His back creaks as he bends to pick up the trash that fell short of the can
With a jerk he pulls the full bag out and replaces it with a new one
He gets his bucket and brushes and cleans every toilet
With another brush he scrubs every sink of dried toothpaste and water
He returns to his closet and summons the mop and bucket
With the expertise of years behind him he quickly cleans the floors
With a cloth he even cleans the water fountain to a shine
He cleans and replaces all his tools and reaches into his pocket for a single dollar
He walks over to the same vending machine and purchases another root beer
just like he has for the last 40 years he sits on the couch and takes a deep sip
Another job well done
The soda becomes his only thanks as he finishes it with a deep sigh
The man collects his things and moves on to the next building
People begin to enter the building and make short work of his hours of cleaning
Already trash has hit the floor next to an empty can, where it will wait for him
By the end of the night the man returns to his small home

This one is dedicated to all the hard workers out there, who often go under appreciated. I wrote this after watching a janitor clean out the bathroom of my dorm every morning at about 5AM (i was waking up for spring training), he actually did his job well, and not more that an hour before he finishes people just walk all over the work he did. Think about someone else sometimes...
He is awake in the middle of the night
His hair has gone silver as tribute to time gone by
His body creaks as he moves about
He prepares the same way every morning
Off to another day of work
An uneven swing of the door signals its time to be fixed again
He opens the closet of his tools for work and sets his things down along side them
The usual routine begins as he inspects what needs to be done
He shakes his head as he flushes the toilet that someone forgot to do themselves
His back creaks as he bends to pick up the trash that fell short of the can
With a jerk he pulls the full bag out and replaces it with a new one
He gets his bucket and brushes and cleans every toilet
With another brush he scrubs every sink of dried toothpaste and water
He returns to his closet and summons the mop and bucket
With the expertise of years behind him he quickly cleans the floors
With a cloth he even cleans the water fountain to a shine
He cleans and replaces all his tools and reaches into his pocket for a single dollar
He walks over to the same vending machine and purchases another root beer
just like he has for the last 40 years he sits on the couch and takes a deep sip
Another job well done
The soda becomes his only thanks as he finishes it with a deep sigh
The man collects his things and moves on to the next building
People begin to enter the building and make short work of his hours of cleaning
Already trash has hit the floor next to an empty can, where it will wait for him
By the end of the night the man returns to his small home

Just Tell me why, what did I do to deserve this
Why do I give my all, and try so hard
Only to receive silence as my reward?

Every man has his breaking point, yet I've ignored mines
