It can be so hard to do the simplest things
As a real man you try to do the right thing
You do the best you can to be her everything
However you are still and always will be a man
As strong as your are you aren’t invulnerable
There is only so much one can take, every man has that breaking point
You have your wants, needs, weaknesses and imperfections
Something so small so basic, so fundamentally natural
Could ignite a reaction that you control
However it still burns inside
Normally her looks, her touch, her smell
All could melt you in an instant
But the fury turns your skin to steel
Your eyes are covered with shades that block out her charm
And just for a moment your feel the coldness
The absence of her warm love, your own darkness inside
Time always heals wounds, but you wonder how long will it take?
Your mind begins to think dangerously
You wonder why she does things, and then think why do you?
Does she really trust you? Is there something I haven’t done right?
What must I do, what haven’t I done????
Then just as fast as your heart turned to stone
Your remember the warmth, that love
And you turn around and go back,
All you want in the world is for things to go well
For her to want the same things you want
For you both to make each other happy and fill each other’s void
Why is this so difficult, why has it claimed so many casualties
But good then again, good things always take hard work and sacrifice
